Most modern 200A panels can accommodate a Level 2 EV charger with a dedicated 50A circuit, but it depends on your panel's available capacity. Rutledge Electric performs a load calculation as part of every EV charger estimate. If your panel needs an upgrade, we can handle that too.
What's the difference between Level 1 and Level 2 charging?
Level 1 charging uses a standard 120V outlet and adds roughly 3–5 miles of range per hour. Level 2 uses a 240V dedicated circuit and adds 20–30+ miles per hour depending on your vehicle. For daily use, most EV owners prefer Level 2.
Do I need a permit to install an EV charger?
